Jason Grewal, Esq. is a triple qualified (New York, England & Wales, and British Columbia) lawyer trained in international financial hubs at some of the world’s top business and law schools. Jason is a trained and practising securities, corporate, and VC/PE lawyer. He focuses his practise on representing local and international businesses and entrepreneurs in emerging industries with a specific focus on fintech, blockchain, cannabis, and early stage technology – assisting these companies access the capital markets in various jurisdictions around the world.
Jason has experience with both large international and boutique firms in the UK, US, Malta, Spain, and Canada. He has been involved in various M&A transactions, and has helped raise capital in both the private and public markets. He has assisted with the listing/flotation of companies in both North America and Europe.
In the UK and mainland Europe, Jason has assisted companies in relation to the Prospectus Directives and applicable Regulations, the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II, the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive, and the AIM Rules for Companies. In the United States, Jason has assisted companies access the private and public markets through Regulation D offerings, Regulation A+ offerings, crowdfunding campaigns, and other securities related transactions.
Born and raised in the Lower Mainland, Jason’s education journey has taken him around the world. He completed his legal education at the London School of Economics, University of London, and Instituto de Empresa (Madrid, Spain) and holds an L.LB (Hons), and an L.LM (International Business Law). Jason has also attended IE Business School and Cass Business School, City University, and holds an M. Sc. in Global Finance.
